V Magazine describes itself this way: “V is a magazine about fashion with a capital F and all the things that go with it: art, music, film, architecture…you name it.”

In their online description they go on to say that V Magazine is where couture meets underground chic. In the past, they illustrated this with the typical skin and bones models on its pages. For example, the latest cover features the ever-thin Natalie Portman.
But that’s about to change, at least according to all the hype the magazine is pulling for its “size issue.” The Chanel-famed Karl Lagerfeld is one of the photographers who shot the models for the issue. The point is to highlight the move in the fashion industry to feature more shapely women, not to feature any particular pieces.
You may remember our recent blog post, A Refreshing *Trendy* Fashion Change – All Size Models, where we talked about Lagerfeld’s RUDE remarks on curvy models. Maybe he’s had a change of heart? Or maybe the consumers have spoken and he has nowhere else to go?
Whatever the reason, we’re happy to see Lagerfeld eat his words and we’re happy to see another magazine take a stand on including all women. We hope the entire fashion industry follows suit.
